Teaching Philosophy

First off I would like to say that I am new to the concept of what exactly is my teaching philosophy. It will likely change constantly as I advance throughout the program and into the classroom. However, I have put together some “I believe” statements regarding how I feel about education:

-I believe that education is a right that every student has.

-I believe that education is constantly evolving.

-I believe that anyone can teach.

-I believe in creating a welcoming and safe environment for students where they can be themselves and have a voice.

-I believe that communication is key and forming relationships with students and the community is essential.

-I believe in preparing students for life after grade school.

-I believe that as a teacher you need to be able to take in constructive criticism to improve the way you teach.

-I believe that no two students are the same.

-I believe in adapting my teaching methods to accommodate for the different ways that students learn.

I felt this was a good start as I could have wrote many more statements. Again, I know my teaching philosophy will change over time and if you have any suggestions to it I would love to hear them!
