My name is Karter Lafontaine and I’m a second-year student at the University of Regina. I’m currently enrolled in Secondary Education with a major in Math and a minor in English.

I have two older brothers and was raised in a small town called Montmartre that is about an hour away from Regina. Growing up on a farm has helped shaped me into the person I am and created the work ethic that I have to this day. I continue to go and work on the farm in the summer and whenever I am able. I would like to consider myself an empathic and passionate person and there are many interests I have in life.
I am very passionate about fitness as even when I’m busy I still try to go to the gym at least 3 or more times a week. I also enjoy going skating on outdoor rinks throughout Regina with my friends. I enjoy cooking and recently have started decorating baking which has been a new challenge for myself. Something else I really enjoy is going to the movies. My girlfriend and I love the popcorn and seeing the new releases! All in all, that’s just a little about who I am and what I enjoy doing in my spare time!

Regarding my career path in teaching. I want to have a positive impact in my students lives and want to make more difficult learning topics seem achievable to those who don’t think they are able. I am excited for this adventure and to never stop learning how I can be a better teacher to my students!
